SOLDIER WHO LOST TESTICLES, LEGS AND SIGHT AFTER STEPPING ON BOMB RECIEVES CHRISTMAS MIRACLE

A soldier who lost his sight, legs and testicles in an explosion while on operations in Afghanistan has welcomed his own Christmas miracle, a baby son.

Shaun Stocker feared he would never be a dad after suffering horrific injuries including the loss of his reproductive organs in a blast in Helmand province.The fusilier was serving with Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, the Royal Welsh regiment when he stepped on the improvised explosive device (IED) in April 2010.

Thanks to the incredible efforts of British scientists who managed to retrieve sperm from a tube deep enough inside his body, Shaun's dream came true on Christmas Day when his fiancee Persia Haghighi gave birth to their baby son Theo. Persia had a 32-hour labour before delivering.
