A man is facing 250 years in prison on child p****graphy charges. What makes this case especially egregious is that the perpetrator (unidentified, to protect the identity of the victim) was a father using social media to coerce unclad pictures from his 14-year-old daughter.
According to Jezebel, on Monday, the father pleaded guilty to 12 counts of enticing a child to produce child p****graphy charges, which entailed setting up a fake Instagram account of a fictional teen boy he then used to catfish his daughter into an online relationship.
As if this story wasn’t horrific enough, the father began sexually abusing the girl after she was tricked into sending the photo. A web site reported that in 2013, the 41-year-old father crafted a fake persona via Instagram, AOL, and a texting app, pretending to be a 16-year-old boy in Watertown, New York, and started chatting with his daughter. The two then started referring to each other as boyfriend and girlfriend, even though they had yet to meet offline. Once they forged this romantic relationship, the man started pressuring his daughter to send unclad photos. A few months later, the girl dumped her online boyfriend, but the man then resorted to blackmail to keep up this sick ruse.
