R&B star Bruno Mars has established a special
scholarship programme in his name to send talented students to the Grammy Foundation's summer music camp over the next five years.
The Treasure hitmaker has joined forces with officials from the Recording Academy and the Hawai'i Community Foundation to support financially-strapped, aspiring musicians via the Bruno Mars Scholarship Fund.
Applicants from Mars' native Hawaii will be given special preference.
One lucky high school student will be selected each year until 2018 to have all tuition fees covered to attend Grammy Camp, which has provided training for youths interested in pursuing careers in the music industry for the past 10 years.
The deadline for applications for the 2014 training camp is 31 March (14).
This year's Grammy Camp will be held in four locations across the U.S. with programmes in Nashville, Tennessee, St. Paul, Minnesota, Los Angeles and New York from June to August (14).
