HORRIBLE: Police Officer Kills His Own Baby In Edo

A little child has suffered the brunt of his father’s anger after he was attacked and killed in Benin city, the capital of Edo.

Samuel Abiola, a police corporal is said to have battered his wife and then turned on their 19-month-old son, Ayomide. The suspect allegedly bit his son several times on the neck, face and stomach before he strangled him to death.

He was alleged to have pounced on the innocent and defenceless baby after his wife whom he had beaten severely, escaped his aggression by the whiskers.

Abiola, an indigene of Ijebu-ode in Ondo State is said to have impregnated another woman from Oghara town, Delta State.

Narrating her ordeal, the mother of the late child, Mrs. Abigail Samuel, Nee Omoruyi, 26, said on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, she and her baby were at home with her husband without any dispute. She said at about 6pm, her husband’s countenance suddenly changed and when she sought to know the reason, he charged

at her like a bull and started to beat her.

“He kicked me on the stomach, pressed my neck and slapped me. I ran out and he turned to the baby who was on the bed, grabbed him and bit him on the neck, stomach and face before strangulating him. He then locked me out and prevented me from going into the house,” she added.

She said when she eventually gained access to the room, the child was taken to Jonos Medical Clinic where the doctor confirmed him dead.

The Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Jolly Nosakhare Iguma, confirmed that a baby was brought in dead a few days ago.
