Check Out the Emotional Way This Paralyzed Veteran Surprised His Bride

27 year old Sgt. Joey Johnson came home from a 10-month stint in Afghanistan and began riding motorcycles to deal with his PTSD.

He had just met the woman he would later marry when he got into a motorcycle accident that caused him to permanently lose feeling from the chest down [via New York Daily News].

Regardless, he and his fiancée Michelle Johnson continued their wedding planning. On the day of the wedding, Joey's friends rigged a harness system that would pull him from his wheelchair into a standing position. They did it while Michelle was getting ready for their first dance.

"If you know Joey, he cannot keep a secret," Michelle Johnson said of seeing her new husband standing upright. "But he made my dreams come true and I never knew how special our day would really be. It was so amazing to be eye to eye with him again and such a dream come true."
